Attorney Information

Overview

Kelsey focuses her practice on litigating civil disputes, including employment, business, insurance coverage, and environmental disputes. She joined Chenoweth Law Group LLC in 2018 after working as a law clerk with the firm. She graduated cum laude from Lewis & Clark Law School in 2018. While at Lewis & Clark, Kelsey served as Notes and Comments Editor of Lewis & Clark Law Review. She was a member of Lewis & Clark's nationally and internationally recognized Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court team. Kelsey also acted as a mentor to first-year students and participated in Business Law Society. Prior to joining CLG, Kelsey gained valuable insight into how to effectively resolve disputes while working as a law clerk at Northwest Workers' Justice Project and serving as a volunteer at the American Civil Liberties Union of Oregon.

Kelsey earned a Bachelor of Arts from University of Oregon in 2014, where she graduated with a major in journalism and minors in political science and Spanish. During her undergraduate studies, Kelsey participated actively in campus life. She spent two years as a member of the executive board of the Associated Students of the University of Oregon and studied abroad in Oviedo, Asturias, Spain. In her free time, Kelsey enjoys cheering on the Ducks, exploring Portland's many interesting restaurants, enjoying Oregon's wine country, traveling with friends, assisting Lewis & Clark's Jessup team as a volunteer judge, and hiking the Columbia River Gorge's many beautiful trails.

Your Profile?  Update Now

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
