Overview
From an early age, Mathew Bekahi knew that the law was his calling. Growing up, he heard the story of how a compassionate attorney changed the course of his family’s life by taking on their asylum case pro bono. That moment of kindness and advocacy stuck with him, shaping his own path toward becoming a lawyer dedicated to helping others navigate the legal system with confidence and dignity.
Mathew earned his Juris Doctor from George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia School of Law, following a Bachelor of Arts focusing on Conflict Resolution and Diplomacy from the University of Oregon. His legal career began with hands-on experience as a paralegal and associate-in-training, where he honed his skills in legal research, negotiation, and trial preparation. Through these roles, he developed a deep understanding of criminal defense, case strategy, and client advocacy.
Before entering the legal field, Mathew served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, where he led and trained teams in high-pressure environments. His military background instilled in him discipline, strategic thinking, and a steadfast commitment to protecting those who rely on him—qualities that now define his approach to legal representation.
Passionate about defending good people facing difficult times, Mathew believes that every client deserves not just legal representation, but a trusted advocate who sees them beyond their case. He is particularly drawn to DUII defense, recognizing the fear and uncertainty that clients face and working tirelessly to guide them through the legal process with skill and empathy. All this makes Mathew a perfect addition to the Reynolds Defense Firm legal team.
Outside of work, Mathew enjoys exploring Oregon’s outdoors with his pooch, diving into books on history and philosophy, and perfecting the art of timing his coffee just right—warm, but not too hot. He’s a devoted Doctor Who fan who is always up for a deep conversation about Greek tragedies or just watching a Blazers game.
For Mathew, the law isn’t just about winning cases—it’s about standing beside people in their most challenging moments and helping them find their way forward.
