Melodie Dickey - Portland, OR

Melodie brings more than a decade of prosecutorial experience to her work at Gilroy Napoli Short, offering clients a deep understanding of how criminal cases are built and pursued. During her time as a Deputy District Attorney in Marion County, she handled a wide spectrum of matters, ranging from DUII and domestic violence cases to complex financial crimes, major drug prosecutions, firearms offenses, and serious Measure 11 crimes, including homicide. This extensive courtroom background enables Melodie to anticipate challenges, develop strong defense strategies, and advocate effectively for fair and balanced outcomes.

Drawing on her firsthand knowledge of the criminal justice system, Melodie is committed to guiding clients through difficult legal situations with clarity, compassion, and determination. She prioritizes open communication and works closely with each individual to ensure they understand their options and feel supported at every stage of their case.

Melodie earned her undergraduate degree in political science from Oregon State University and received her Juris Doctor from Willamette University College of Law. In addition to her law degree, she completed a Certificate in Dispute Resolution, strengthening her ability to resolve cases efficiently through negotiation and alternative methods when appropriate.

Outside the office, Melodie values time with her husband and children and enjoys exploring new baking projects in her kitchen.
