Robert Brannon - Portland, OR

Robert Brannon brings a rare combination of courtroom experience, law enforcement insight, and compassion to his work as a criminal defense attorney. Having served both as a prosecutor and as a state peace officer, Robert has seen the criminal justice system from multiple perspectives. Those experiences shaped his belief that every person deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and understanding during difficult moments in their lives.

Originally from Colorado, Robert developed a love for the outdoors and public service early on. His career began with Colorado Parks and Wildlife, where he worked as a Park Ranger. In that role, he handled criminal investigations, public safety matters, and emergency response. Working closely with people in high-stress situations taught him the importance of patience, communication, and empathy—qualities that continue to guide his approach as an attorney today.

Before joining Reynolds Defense Firm, Robert worked as a Deputy District Attorney in Clackamas County where he focused heavily on DUI cases and criminal litigation. He handled charging decisions, negotiated case resolutions, and tried numerous jury trials. His experience gives him valuable insight into how prosecutors evaluate cases and how DUI investigations are conducted.

Robert’s background allows him to thoughtfully analyze cases while remaining focused on helping clients move forward with their lives. He understands that people facing criminal charges are often dealing with fear, uncertainty, and challenges beyond the courtroom. His practical, client-centered approach aligns naturally with Reynolds Defense Firm’s mission of treating clients as people—not case numbers.

Outside of work, Robert enjoys hiking, snowboarding, paddleboarding, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, reading, gaming, and traveling with his wife. He’s also an avid fan of fantasy and science fiction and is always happy to discuss the works of JRR Tolkien over a good cup of coffee.
