Robert Brannon - Portland, OR

I bring a unique combination of courtroom experience, law enforcement insight, and compassion to my work as a criminal defense attorney. Before joining Reynolds Defense Firm, I served as both a Deputy District Attorney and a state peace officer, experiences that allowed me to see the criminal justice system from multiple perspectives. Those roles shaped my belief that every person deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and understanding during some of the most difficult moments in their lives.

I grew up in Colorado, where I developed a love for the outdoors and public service at an early age. My career began with Colorado Parks and Wildlife, where I worked as a Park Ranger and law enforcement officer. In that role, I handled criminal investigations, emergency response, and public safety matters while also serving as a Field Training Officer and Defensive Tactics Instructor. Working closely with people in stressful situations taught me the importance of patience, communication, and empathy—qualities that continue to guide my work as an attorney today.

Prior to joining Reynolds Defense Firm, I worked as a Deputy District Attorney with the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office, where I focused heavily on DUII cases and criminal litigation. I handled charging decisions, negotiated case resolutions, litigated complex motions, and tried numerous jury and bench trials. That experience gave me valuable insight into how prosecutors evaluate cases and how DUII investigations are conducted.

My background allows me to thoughtfully analyze cases while staying focused on helping clients move forward with their lives. I understand that people facing criminal charges are often dealing with fear, uncertainty, and challenges beyond the courtroom. That understanding is one of the reasons I was drawn to Reynolds Defense Firm and its client-centered approach to defense.

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, snowboarding, paddleboarding, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, reading, gaming, and traveling with my wife. I’m also a longtime fan of fantasy and science fiction, and I’m always happy to talk about Lord of the Rings over a good cup of coffee.
