Overview

David has practiced law for over three decades, including with the Oregon Department of Justice, in private practice, and as legal counsel for public entities. Most recently, David served as city attorney for a coastal municipality, and before that as an elected city council member for over 13 years.

David is originally from the Chicago area and moved to the Pacific Northwest to attend college and law school, graduating from Lewis & Clark Law School in 1985. He has lived on the central coast in Newport for close to 30 years, and has traveled the length of the Oregon coast many times over, in particular while serving for over 12 years as a governor-appointed member of a state advisory council on ocean/coastal policy issues.

In his spare time, David can be seen walking his malamute-husky on the beaches around Newport.
