My adult son has a rare disease and was denied eligibility for SSI. I found Bob thru a conversation with my minister. He is a great person in addition to being excellent attorney. He spent a lot of time listening to my concerns; asked questions about his disease and took the time to understand my son's very complicated medical history. He also explained the process and reassured us as we went thru the process. He was very patient with my son and listened to his concerns which was very important. We went through the process and went to court. Once the judge met my son we were granted the SSI and back payment. I would not hesitate to recommend Bob to anyone who needs a lawyer. In fact, I would recommend to anyone to seek his advice when you start the process instead of waiting until you are denied.

Got SSDI rejection today. Feeling extremely anxious cause of it. I've been lawyer shopping due to it most the afternoon with disastrous results. Talked with one of his paralegals at about 6pm and he informs me that he out of the office and will contact me tomorrow. Robert Cullen, the actual lawyer, dude calls me at about 7pm from the drive thru at a chic-fil-a and describes perfectly the situation that I'm gonna through. I barely mention my condition and he already knew the difficulties I've been facing with my disability. He then proceeds to give me sound legal advice for free that hopefully would result in me not needing his consul in the future. All from his car while not even at work. If I had money I would have sent him a check, but the best I can do is offer my recommendation. Give this guy a try.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
