Attorney Information
Overview
Michael A. Trimmer is an attorney at the Law Offices of Craig A. Diehl, where he currently practices in the areas of civil and administrative litigation, with particular emphasis on family law (Divorce, Custody, Support, and Protection from Abuse matters) bankruptcy, business litigation, landlord tenant litigation, and real estate matters.
Michael graduated with his degree in Government from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA where he was on the Dean's list every semester of attendance. He then attended law school at Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg, PA on a full tuition scholarship. During law school, Michael was a staff editor on the Widener Journal of Public Law, the official Law Review of the law school, and then served on the Administrative Board of the Law Review and as its Business and Circulation Managing Editor. During this time, he published two law review articles in the areas of Administrative Law and Professional Licensing, and he served as Co-chair of the Widener Spring Symposium on Administrative law reform.
After graduation, Michael was privileged to work for the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania at the Pennsylvania State Capitol Building where he served as a staff attorney and law clerk for three successive Chief Justices of Pennsylvania. Michael continued his work in state government at the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency, where he had primary responsibility for bankruptcy matters, student loan litigation and servicing compliance litigation for the agency's servicing portfolio of nearly $100 Billion in private and government student loan assets. He later gained exposure to state procurement contracting, as well as internal employment and human resources litigation.
Since 2010, Michael has been representing individuals, corporations, and government entities and enjoys using his broad-based skills to secure favorable results for his clients. Michael has always felt that his public service should go beyond his career. His passion for helping people has led him to donate time to many charitable endeavors over the years, including Wills for Heroes, Boy Scouts of America as an assistant den leader, Girl Scouts of America as a mentor and parent volunteer, frequent parent teacher organization events and fund raisers, numerous church organizations, including frequently serving as a worship leader, and volunteering at a local food pantry.
He has also been an active member in the James S. Bowman American Inn of Courts as an Associate and then served two terms as a Barrister member, where he embraced mentorship and teaching opportunities. Michael has also proudly served as a non-partisan election protection poll watcher in three General Elections. He continues to be an active member in both the Dauphin County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
During his spare time, Michael enjoys sports and outdoor activities, and he aspires to complete more competitive sports and extreme obstacle course races. Until time and circumstances permit, he will settle for letting his 4-year-old German Shepherd Husky continue to pull him around the neighborhood.
Mr. Trimmer is admitted to practice before the state courts of Pennsylvania, the United States District Courts for the Middle and Eastern Districts of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.
