Overview
Margaret Zylka House is a native to the Connellsville community. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from the Duquesne University School of Law where she was a member of the Duquesne Law Review, a prestigious honor working on the university's legal journal staff. While at Duquesne, Ms. House also participated in the NASD Securities Arbitration Practicum, a legal clinic representing elder and low-income investors in NASD Arbitration. She worked as a research assistant to one of the Law School's professors and was employed part-time by a number of Pittsburgh law firms during her graduate education at Duquesne University.
Prior to beginning her legal studies, Ms. House obtained her Bachelor of Science in business management with minors in finance and industrial relations from St. Vincent College, Latrobe, graduating cum laude. She was also a William Rafferty scholar athlete award recipient and captain and four-year letter winner on the Women's Cross-Country team.
Ms. House has been a financial planner with her husband's firm, House Financial Services, for six years prior to opening her law practice. She holds her Series 7, 63 and Health, Accident, and Life Insurance licenses, trading through Trustmont Financial Group in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
Along with memberships in Allegheny County, Fayette County and Westmoreland County Bar Associations, Ms. House is licensed to practice law by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. Additionally, Ms. House is active in volunteer work within her community, serving on the Board of Directors for both Laurel Highlands Regional Family YMCA and Twin Trees, Inc., a network of group homes for the physically and mentally handicapped. She is an active member of the Mount Pleasant Rotary Club, Braddock Trails Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and pastoral and finance council member of St. John the Baptist Church, Scottdale.
Margaret resides with her husband, Max, and their son in Bullskin Township. She enjoys reading, running and golfing in her free time.
