Melissa M. Smith - Eagleville, PA

Melissa M. Smith is an Associate in Chartwell's Valley Forge Office. Ms. Smith earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, graduating magna cum laude with departmental honors from Widener University. As an undergraduate and first year law student, Ms. Smith worked for a private care facility managing residential programing for adjudicated adolescents and serving as a liaison between the judicial system and social services. While in law school, Ms. Smith clerked during the day at several area law firms, gaining valuable experience while financing her education. She was a Staff Editor for the Widener Law Review and received multiple Certificates of Achievement for earning the highest grades in her classes. Ms. Smith graduated, cum laude, from the evening division of Widener University School of Law in 2009.

Ms. Smith was a Summer Associate at Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires & Newby LLP. Ms. Smith went on to practice workers' compensation defense at Weber Gallagher for nearly three years before joining Chartwell.

Ms. Smith is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association. She currently serves on the Executive Board of the Workers' Compensation Section as a liaison to the Young Lawyers Division. Ms. Smith is committed to the defense of insured and self-insured entities in Pennsylvania and New Jersey workers' compensation matters.
