Attorney Information

Overview

Concentrating exclusively in the area of employment law for nearly 25 years, Solomon has dedicated his practice to employment law and litigation in state and federal court and at the administrative agency level. He has developed extensive experience handling complex litigation arising from workplace disputes including sexual and racial harassment; age, race, gender, religion and disability discrimination, wrongful discharge, retaliation, and other claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; the Americans with Disabilities Act; the Age Discrimination in Employment Act; the Family and Medical Leave Act; the Fair Labor Standards Act; and the Pennsylvania Wage Payment and Collection Law. Solomon handles matters involving all aspects of unlawful discrimination, harassment, and/or retaliation in the workplace; wrongful termination cases; and the negotiation of severance and employment agreements. He has vast experience drafting executive and physician employment contracts, non-compete agreements, and separation/severance agreements.

His firm also provides counsel and advice to corporate clients to forestall liability through education and cooperative human resource decision-making. Solomon advises businesses on the creation and maintenance of employee handbook/manual, and compliance issues involving employment laws. Solomon has developed a keen sense of workplace dynamics which serves him well in connection with the investigation and resolution of workplace harassment/discrimination issues, as well as the defense of legal claims. He frequently conducts harassment and other workplace training for corporate clients.

Solomon is honored to have been selected once again as a Pennsylvania “Super Lawyer” by Law Politics and Philadelphia Magazine for employment law in 2019. This marks the 11th time he has been recognized as a Philadelphia Magazine Super Lawyer. In 1999, Solomon was selected as one of Central Pennsylvania's “Top Forty Under 40” award winners by the Central Pennsylvania Business Journal. He is a frequent lecturer for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute on various topics involving employment law and litigation, and has served as an adjunct professor of employment law at Villanova University.

He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District Court for the Middle, Eastern and Western Districts of Pennsylvania. He is a member and former officer of the Employment Rights Section of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association. Solomon received his Juris Doctorate from University of New Hampshire School of Law (Concord, New Hampshire - 1994), and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Muhlenberg College (Allentown, Pennsylvania - 1986).

Your Profile?  Update Now

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
