Hired Law firm 2023I worked with Cory..the owner on a real estate transactions. You do not know she is the owner unless you uncover it.,:: Very poor communications, Cory never interacts, she provided incorrect information to the loan company; she has a real estate agent doing her job, she does not provide wiring information directly and I have never seen that, they are tied in with a real estate agency 60 miles away and you will not know that ..very inconvenient. She has arrangements with real estate agencies that have a direct contract with her. So if you use the respective real estate agency you will be tied in with using her and pay more because of the business relationship. Make sure your realtor does not have that business relationship. Use a title closing company YOU chose. Do not get involved with Cory or Jacques&Jacques..her company

Consulted Law firm 2022-2023Law firm of Jacques & Jacques sent my children a letter regarding an inheritance. This unsolicited letter stated that if we had questions, to contact the firm, and so we did. We were under the auspices that our questions would be confidential. Less than a couple hours later, we got word from another heir to the same estate that our conversation with the office staff of Jacques & Jacques were indeed not confidential. After complaining to the law firm, our concerns were brushed under the rug in my opinion. Upon further explaination, attorney Charles John Jacques III stated: "I do not owe you a duty of confidentiality." We did not select this lawfirm to represent the estate for which my children are a part of. If you value your privacy and/or confidentiality, then stay clear from this blabbermouth lawfirm of Jacques & Jacques, P.C. would be my advice.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
