Customer Reviews for Meyerson & O'Neill, Attorneys at Law

Consulted Law firm 2021I reached out to Mr. Meyerson for representation and after discussing the case with him, he sent an email stating, "good to speak with you. This email will provide you with all of my contact information-my email address and my cell phone. The office address is set forth immediately below. I anticipate reaching out to you first part of next week with a retention agreement after I've pulled up and reviewed the appropriate documents from the trial and appellate dockets. Thank you for contacting our firm; I look forward to working with you. Jack Meyerson." After several weeks of not hearing back from Mr. Meyerson, I followed up with an email to him, and a week after, I got an email from him saying, "thank you for following up. We are not currently accepting any new legal malpractice claims so we will not be able to take on your matter. I encourage you to discuss this case with other lawyers experienced in legal malpractice. Thank you for thinking of us. Jack Meyerson" Mr. Meyerson knew or should have known when I first made contact with him that he was not "accepting any new legal malpractice claims" and instead, falsely led me to believe that he would reach out to me with a retention agreement. He knew that was a lie. Bottom line is, DO NOT trust anything this attorney says because he is a liar and can't be trusted.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
