Mr. Cooney joined the firm after spending a decade at the Defender Association of Philadelphia as a trial attorney. In his time there, Mr. Cooney participated in every step of the litigation process, including writing motions and making oral argument in court. Mr. Cooney tried hundreds of preliminary hearings and trials in both the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas and the Municipal Court of Philadelphia.
Prior to his law career, Mr. Cooney grew up in the Philadelphia area. In his free time, he enjoys going to the movies and cheering on his Philadelphia and Notre Dame sports teams.
