James F. Tate is an equity partner with the Toxic Tort Litigation Department and serves as Corporate Secretary and Co-Manager of the firm's Philadelphia office. Mr. Tate specializes in the defense of product manufacturers, suppliers and premises owners in asbestos-related cases. In 2000, Mr. Tate graduated from Saint Joseph's University with a Bachelor of Arts in English. After graduating from Saint Joseph's, Mr. Tate worked for several years in the construction industry before entering law school. Mr. Tate attended the Rutgers School of Law - Camden, New Jersey, earning his juris doctor in 2006.
Mr. Tate has experience in handling arbitration and major jury trial cases in all aspects - from the filing of the initial pleadings through final resolution. In representing the client, Mr. Tate handles all phases of litigation, including the initial case investigation, discovery, depositions, motion practice and the preparation of witnesses and experts for trial. Mr. Tate is also experienced in the handling of general liability claims, including the defense of first-party motor vehicle actions, uninsured and underinsured motor vehicle claims, construction defect lawsuits, products liability actions and premises liability cases.
Mr. Tate enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids. He is a recreational runner and is active in his local community where he coaches youth sports.
