Juan Andrews Jr. - Philadelphia, PA

Juan is an attorney at McEldrew Purtell who works with the firm’s Catastrophic Personal Injury, Toxic Tort, and Complex Personal Injury practice groups. His practice is shaped by a commitment to advocacy, public service, and helping individuals and families navigate serious legal challenges.

Before joining McEldrew Purtell, Juan gained valuable experience at a highly regarded plaintiffs’ firm. He also brings experience from public service, corporate legal work, clinical advocacy, and community-based pro bono representation.

Juan graduated from Delaware Law School while balancing full-time work with evening classes. During law school, he earned the 2022 “Best Negotiator” award from the Transactional Law Honor Society and was selected for the Delaware Law Civil Clinic. Through the clinic, he represented low-income clients in Protection from Abuse and custody matters involving domestic violence, strengthening his trial preparation, negotiation, and client advocacy skills.

Prior to and during law school, Juan worked at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, where he served as Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff and later as Coordinator for the Juvenile Diversion Program. In those roles, he supported alternative pathways for at-risk youth and helped advance solutions aimed at keeping young people out of the criminal justice system.

Juan’s legal background also includes experience as an in-house summer associate at a Fortune 500 company, where he worked on litigation and transactional matters. That experience gives him insight into how businesses and institutions approach disputes, risk, and legal strategy.

Juan is deeply involved in pro bono and community work. He assists low-income Philadelphians with trust and estate matters, helps local musicians with contracts, licensing agreements, and trademark issues, and mentors teens and aspiring law and undergraduate students. He recently launched a college preparation program designed to provide diverse high school students with guidance, planning support, and access to professional networks.
