Mr. Petrich has a B.S. degree in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh, which he obtained while working full time at Pitt's Health Law Center and a Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public Health.

He then received his Law Degree, at night, from Duquesne University while employed as Assistant Executive Director at The Western Pennsylvania Hospital, also serving as in-house counsel after obtaining his law degree. Mr. Petrich was then President and CEO of a 600 bed mid-western hospital, including a nursing home and psychiatric facility, before his return home to Pittsburgh.

He has been active in the Pittsburgh area community, including the Allegheny County Bar Association where he is a past Chair of the Elder Law Committee and a member of the Probate and Trust Section, Mt. Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce (past President), Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Association of Individual Investors (past President), and is a former Board Member of the Mt. Lebanon Hospital Authority. He was also a member of the Allegheny County Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council, a former Board Member of Mt. Lebanon Village and was a Board Member of Baptist Family Services which operates the Baptist Home and Providence Point, a Continuing Care Retirement Community.

He has been named from 2006 - 2017, a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer in Elder Law and from 2006 to the present for inclusion in the publication "The Best Lawyers in America" in Elder Law. In 2023, he was named a 'Lawyer of the Year' honoree by "Best Lawyers."

Mr. Petrich is also a Certified Financial Planner and a member of the Estate Planning Council of Pittsburgh, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Pittsburgh Paddlefish Dragon Boat team and is a Penn State Master Gardener and a Certified Personal Trainer.

Mr. Petrich & Mr. Gray also co-author a monthly "Elder Law Column" in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
