Hired Law firm 2020I have a great deal of gratitude and respect for the firm of Julian Gray Associates. Several years ago, the staff of JGA provided much needed legal advice to my father, as my mother was admitted to a nursing home. My father was able to receive Veteran's Benefits thanks to the outstanding legal work of JGA. Courtney Bachik was one of the contacts during this process, and was always extremely efficient, kind and compassionate. My next experience with JGA came about in 2020, as Julian Gray and Kelly Thomas expertly and patiently guided me through the steps involved in settling my father's estate. Julian and Kelly are very approachable and easy to talk to, and it has been a great comfort to me in knowing that I have been able to fully rely on their advice - and that they have always been available to answer my many questions! the fact that this legal work was handled so competently and professionally - especially during the Covid pandemic - only serves to increase my respect and admiration for Julian and his staff. I am very thankful to be one of their clients!

Hired Law firm 2020I hired this firm to file the PA Inheritance tax for my mother's passing. They charged me $4,130 just for simple paperwork that I could have done on my own if I knew which forms to fill out. I would not recommend this firm because of the high pricing.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
