Attorney Information
Overview
As an attorney with OWM Law, I have had the privilege of representing and providing legal services to clients (be they individuals, corporations, partnerships, local governmental bodies, or other persons) primarily in the areas of land use law (zoning, subdivisions and land developments) municipal law, and real estate law. Additionally, I have assisted clients in the preparation of estate planning documents (wills, living wills and powers of attorney), the probate of wills, and the administration of decedent’s estates.
I was born and raised in Shenandoah, Schuylkill County, in the heart of the hard coal region of Pennsylvania, the son of a school administrator, the grandson of a coal miner, and the grandson of the namesake of Mrs. T’s Pierogies.
My wife, Maggie, and I reside in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, where we have made our home since 1976, and raised our family. We are long-time parishioners of St. Aloysius Parish, Pottstown, Maggie was a long-time, and is now a retired, second grade teacher at St. Aloysius Parish School. We have two grown and married sons, Brian, a high school physical education teacher, who resides with his family in Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania, and Andrew, a pediatric dentist, who resides with his family in Tucson, Arizona. We are the proud grandparents of three granddaughters and a grandson.
Quote I live by:
“The leading rule for the lawyer, as for the man of every calling, is diligence.” Abraham Lincoln.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
