Attorney Information
Overview
A Reputation For Tenacity– Having been in practice for more than 50 years, my reputation precedes me. I practice in the areas of criminal law and family law and am relentless in my effort to obtain the best possible result for my clients. I will give you and your case the attention and care they deserve.
Vast Experience In The Courtroom – I strive to reach out-of-court agreements with the opposing side but prepare as if we are going to trial. If we end up in court, I am well acquainted and comfortable in any Court or Hearing Room. I served as a Chester County prosecutor for 14 years, and during the last four of those years, I was Chester County’s first full-time district attorney. During my tenure with Chester County, I tried more than 150 jury trials.
Client Testimonial:
“I spoke to Mr. Freeman and I can’t find the best words to express how much I appreciate him. He’s down to earth and and never will leave you confused. He will fight for you and get the job done without you being worried sick, just the normal nerves lol. You won’t be disappointed by James Freeman.” - Marie F.
"This law firm is top-notch. After several other lawyers gave me nothing but negative news, a friend of mine recommended Jim Freeman, and I am so grateful he did. Not only did Mr. Freeman minimize my charges, but my record will be cleared as well. A huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Amazing job! Thanks again, Mr. Freeman!" - Greg R.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
