Verified ClientHired Law firm 2023-2025I am so glad that I contacted Mr.Terry Hess as he was a blessing for my situation. He was always available and so easy to communicate with. He answered all of my questions and took me through the courtroom process and paperwork making it so easy without any stress. I couldn't have gotten through any of what I had to do without him.

Verified ClientConsulted Law firm 2021My experience with Mr. Hess has been uniformly and strikingly positive. I first contacted Mr. Hess by leaving a phone message on a federal holiday, hoping to receive a response on the following business day, but was overwhelmed to receive a response within minutes. By his standards the matter in question (traffic citation) must have been boringly simple, but to me it was new, and I needed both general legal advice and knowledge of local practices and circumstances. He provided both in abundance, listening carefully, then patiently addressing my questions with clarity and focus through multiple texts, emails, and phone calls --- all without charge (though I would have been happy to compensate advice of this quality and timeliness). I would not hesitate to consult Mr. Hess on any future issues, and I most strongly recommend him to prospective clients.

Verified ClientHired Law firm 2020-2021Mr. Hess was incredibly professional and responded promptly to any concerns I had. He did a great job in explaining the situation and what my options are. Even though my situation was just a simple traffic case, he still took it seriously (the other lawyer I got in contact with played down my request and told me to just accept the fine). No matter what your trouble is, Mr. Hess will definitely listen and give you a proper analysis. Definitely would recommend.

Verified ClientHired Law firm 2020I found Terry here after finding myself in need of a lawyer who could help me with 2 tickets I received while driving through central PA (1 for speeding and 1 for careless driving). I was moving to western PA and had never gotten a ticket before so I had no idea what to do. I had to fight the charges or else my insurance would skyrocket with 2 violations and I didn’t want this to affect my ability to get a license in PA. Terry was quick in his response and very honest in his assessment. I didn’t know what I was really getting into but other great reviews about Terry made me comfortable to hire him. He told me what to expect each step of the way. My tickets were dismissed because the trooper never showed but given the crazy world we are in right now, I’m glad I had Terry on my side to help me.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
