Overview
A native of York County, John has practiced law in south central Pennsylvania for more than three decades. His business and real estate practice includes representation of small and medium-sized businesses, family farms and real estate developers in all types of matters.
John is also a licensed title insurance agent and has extensive experience drafting and negotiating real estate documents and securing financing for real estate acquisitions. He has counseled clients on the acquisition and development of numerous agricultural, industrial and residential properties, including through tax-free like-kind exchanges. He has also represented clients securing various types of financing, including lines of credit, mortgages, asset-backed financings and revolving credit facilities, and has litigated a variety of complex real estate and commercial claims before state courts.
John also advises clients on business formation, estate planning and wealth transfer, counseling them on all stages of their business, from initial choice of entity to capitalization to planning for business succession. Through his years of experience, he has also gained a unique knowledge and understanding of multi-generational estate planning for agribusiness.
Maintaining an active municipal law practice, John serves as solicitor of Springfield Township, East Hopewell Township, and Dover Borough Zoning Hearing Board, all in York County. In that capacity he has gained particularly strong knowledge of municipal and land use law. He regularly represents businesses and developers before a variety of local and state administrative agencies.
