Customer Reviews for Aronberg Goldgehn Davis & Garmisa

Hired Law firm 2025I retained Aronberg Goldgehn Davis & Garmisa and paid a retainer of $10,000. After being retained, little to no substantive work was performed on my matter, communication was poor, and my concerns were not adequately addressed. Once it became clear that the firm was not acting in my best interests, I terminated the representation. Despite this, my retainer was not returned in full as I believe it should have been given the lack of meaningful work performed. They charged me over $6,000 for this meaningless performance. This experience was extremely disappointing and financially damaging. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to carefully document everything, ask very detailed questions up front, and think twice before retaining this firm.

Hired Attorney Elizabeth Olen Lazzara 2023-2025Elizabeth Lazzara is so much more than an attorney to me. I honestly do not have enough words to express how deeply grateful I am for everything she has done. It was an honor to have her by my side during one of the most painful and difficult chapters of my life—my divorce and custody case. Through every challenge, Elizabeth remained strong, calm, and incredibly supportive. When I felt overwhelmed and broken, she stood up. She did not just represent me in court—she advocated for my future and my child’s well-being with strength, integrity, and heart. Elizabeth is firm, fair, and deeply compassionate. She fought for me while also treating me with kindness and respect when I needed it the most. I also had the blessing of working with her colleague, Sara Imam, who is just as wonderful—supportive, knowledgeable, and kind. I cannot forget to thank Marlene Chavez, an incredible administrative professional who always made sure I was informed, updated, and never left in the dark. Her care and communication meant more than she probably knows. The entire team made me feel safe, understood, and supported from the very first day. In the middle of so much pain and uncertainty, they gave me peace, confidence, and hope. I will forever be thankful to Elizabeth Lazzara, Sara, Marlene, and the entire staff. They were not just my legal team—they became part of my healing. I highly recommend this firm to anyone who needs not only an excellent attorney, but a team who truly cares.

Hired Attorney Staci Balbirer 2019-2020I strongly recommend Staci Balbirer to anyone looking for a family law attorney. I cant say enough positive things about Staci and only wish I had transferred my case to her earlier than I had. She handled my post dissolution of marriage case and I was very pleased with the results. She is understanding yet firm and to the point. She truly cares about her clients and it shows. She is sharp and very knowledgable. She doesnt miss a beat when negotiating with the opposing attorney, is detailed in her review of any documents and her writing skills are definitely worth mentioning. I felt at ease and comfortable with her handling my case and knew she was on top of everything at all times. In addition, she responds to emails and calls promptly and actually addresses any question you may have.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
