Hired Attorney Patricia G. Kitson 2023-2025
I cannot recommend this attorney highly enough. She was truly a godsend during an incredibly difficult and complicated time. She is poised, exceptionally intelligent, measured, and incredibly sharp. What sets her apart, though, is her honesty and sense of justice. She will always tell you the truth--even when it's not necessarily what you want to hear--and that is something I came to value enormously. She doesn't simply tell you what you want to hear; she gives you the advice you need to hear. Most importantly, she genuinely cares about her clients. She approaches every situation thoughtfully and strategically, while never losing sight of the human side of what you are going through. I always felt that she was truly in my corner and that every piece of advice came from a place of experience, integrity, and genuine concern. Smart, principled, compassionate, and as sharp as a tack--she is exactly the kind of attorney you want beside you when it matters most. I will always be incredibly grateful for her guidance and support.

Consulted Attorney Patricia G. Kitson 2023
Horrible, nasty, rude and greedy with no professional accountability. My husband refused to provide support and was terrorizing me. I asked for help with a restraining order and getting support she said I NEED to wait till the divorce. She criticized, berated and blamed me. She would not call back for 4 days when I was being terrorized by my husband. She did not want to do anything but be a go between between me and him. Beware: after writing this review on google she started threatening me to take it down first by calling my mother and then in personal emails to me. I would take her review score with a grain of salt as she may have threatened others and intimated them to take reviews down.

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
