I should initially clarify that Mr. Curry decided to not take my case, so I may not offer review of such. That being said; I can attest to anyone reading these reviews, that Mr. Curry was the FIRST attorney that actually took the time to truly delve into the situation. I will not further offer detail into the situation, but I can state that that the situation is one of rarity. We exchanged numerous emails (most of which were extremely lengthy due to the complexity of the matter), and spoke on the phone twice for roughly an hour each time. Other attorneys I had contacted before Mr. Curry, would either completely ignore my calls, or would dismiss the matter entirely without hearing all the details. Shawn truly elicits the highest level of integrity, as after spending his time entertaining the matter — he refused to allow me to pay him for his time... Mr. Curry’s interests are completely targeted toward helping the folks he represents. A common public generalization holds that some attorneys just want your money. Attorney Curry is most definitely not one of those attorneys. In conclusion, I should note that search lead me to Mr. Curry due to his vast experience as a true trial attorney. Most cases are granted disposition prior to trial. However, those who are fortunate enough to retain Mr. Curry, are enlisting an attorney that has the experience at trial proceedings similar to that of senior aged attorney. Shawn actually teaches trial skills to new attorneys or those who are preparing to take the BAR. Retain Mr. Curry, and you can rest assured that your rights, interests, and understanding will be duly protected, advocated for.

Shawn Curry represented me very well in court. Before my initial sentencing he gave me several suggestions/recommendations that not only helped in court but have turned my life around for the better. I highly recommend him. I couldn’t have done it without him. -Tom

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
