My experience with Jaffe Law in my custody case was extremely frustrating and disorganized. I requested a specific attorney at intake and was told I would be assigned to her, but aside from a welcome email, I never actually worked with her. Instead, my case was passed between multiple attorneys, and I had to repeatedly explain the same details—sometimes right before court. There was no continuity in representation. Different attorneys showed up for mediation, hearings, and my final hearing, often with limited familiarity with my case. I frequently had to bring them up to speed myself. At my first mediation, opposing counsel had not received my financial documents because I was never given the request or instructions to complete them. This resulted in a delay and rescheduling. I also requested a contempt motion be filed. For months, I was told it was being worked on, only to be informed just days before court that it had not been completed and would require additional SIGNIFICANT fees to move forward. Communication was inconsistent throughout. Emails and portal messages often went unanswered, and it was never clear who was actually responsible for managing my case. Before my final hearing, I spoke with the attorney representing me only once, just days prior, and I was not given clear details about where or when to appear. Walking into court under those conditions was unnecessarily stressful. Overall, I left this experience feeling unprepared, unsupported, and without confidence that my case was handled with the attention it deserved. I can’t even describe how disappointed I am in this firm.

My experience with Jaffee Law was extremely disappointing and frustrating. After retaining the firm during what was already a stressful and vulnerable situation, I expected professionalism, accuracy, and a sense of urgency. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Incorrect documents were filed on my behalf, which created additional complications instead of resolving the issue. Despite the seriousness and time-sensitive nature of the matter, there appeared to be little urgency shown in addressing the situation or correcting the errors. Communication and follow through were also lacking throughout the process. To make matters worse, there was no tangible work completed that reflected the expectations set when the firm was retained. The experience left me feeling unsupported during a time when competent legal assistance was critically important. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this firm and would not use their services again even if they were free. I strongly encourage anyone considering legal representation to thoroughly research and ensure they will receive the level of professionalism, accuracy, and responsiveness that legal matters require.

**⭐ (1/5 stars)** **Would not recommend this firm for family law matters.** I hired this firm for a family law case and had significant concerns about their service quality and professionalism. **Communication Issues:** - Extremely slow response times to emails and calls - When they do respond, often deflect rather than address concerns - Don't appear to listen to client input or priorities **Professional Competency Concerns:** - Failed to file required documents on time, then blamed client - Inconsistent instructions about document formats (requested PDF, then Word, then PDF again) - Appear to assign less experienced attorneys to handle complex matters - Frequent misplacement of important paperwork - Poor internal organization and case management **Service Quality:** - Unprofessional attitude - act as if representation is a favor rather than paid service - Continue billing while providing substandard work - No accountability when mistakes occur - Pass issues between different staff members without resolution **Overall Experience:** The low fees initially seemed attractive, but the poor service quality resulted in additional stress and costs. The lack of competent representation ultimately led me to terminate their services and seek alternative representation. **Action Taken:** Filing complaint with Georgia State Bar regarding professional conduct concerns. **Recommendation:** Consider other firms that demonstrate better organization, communication, and professional standards. The initial cost savings are not worth the potential impact on your case outcome.

I recently had the pleasure of working with an outstanding team of divorce lawyers, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. From the very first consultation, I felt genuinely supported and understood. Navigating through a divorce can be a challenging and emotional experience, but this team made the process as smooth and stress-free as possible. The lawyers were incredibly knowledgeable and professional, always taking the time to explain every detail and answer all of my questions. They were compassionate and empathetic, which made me feel at ease during a difficult time. Their strategic approach and attention to detail ensured that my interests were always prioritized, and I felt confident knowing that they were handling my case with the utmost care and dedication. What truly set them apart was their commitment to finding a fair and amicable resolution, while also being prepared to advocate fiercely when necessary. Their negotiation skills were top-notch, and they were always one step ahead, anticipating potential challenges and proactively addressing them. If you're looking for divorce lawyers who are not only experts in their field but also genuinely care about their clients' well-being, this team is the perfect choice. They turned what could have been a daunting experience into one where I felt supported, informed, and empowered every step of the way. I am truly grateful for their help and highly recommend them to anyone in need of exceptional legal representation.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
