If you're considering this firm, you should read the full story. A coworker recommended Angulo Law Group after I had a car accident in November 2024. She said they were effective, but took a lot in costs. When my case was completed in July 2025, I reviewed the costs--and they were outrageous. I requested itemization, especially for over $900 in copies, which didn't match the size or complexity of my case. Amid several requests between September and October 2025, the firm provided only internal ledger entries with no supporting documentation. That's when I dug deeper. According to the Nevada Supreme Court disciplinary order, Cory J. Hilton--who was working as the case manager supervisor--was suspended from practicing law in Nevada and ordered to pay three million in restitution, complete continuing legal education, continue clinical therapy, and pay additional disciplinary costs. Court records also show that Dominic "Nick" Magliarditi was a defendant in TransFirst Group, Inc. v. Magliarditi, where the Fifth Circuit affirmed a judgment against him in the millions arising from claims including mail fraud, wire fraud, RICO violations, and false statements made under oath. I filed a complaint with the Nevada State Bar, which went to mediation in February 2026. The firm claimed the copies amounted to 1,750 pages--3.5 reams of paper--and said I had "accepted" the costs. The form I signed did not say that; it only acknowledged that third-party costs might exist. The Bar couldn't resolve the issue, leaving small claims my last recourse. And as I prepared for that case, I identified additional accounting errors. I prevailed on the cost issue. In June 2026, the judge agreed that the majority of the firm's claimed "costs" were internal office expenses, not costs advanced by the firm as described in its own retainer agreement. This is now part of the public record. Before all of this, my experience with the office had already raised red flags. After meeting with an assistant--not an attorney--and signing the retainer, I asked if Peter Angulo was available just so I could say hello. I ended up listening to him talk at length for nearly two hours before I could leave. Communication was equally frustrating. I tried to quit in the first week, but Hilton persuaded me to stay and assigned another assistant. Even then, the information I received seemed to change depending on who I spoke with. During another visit to sign documents, I made the mistake of asking if Hilton was available--and again found myself in a one-sided conversation where he spoke at length about his experience. I told him I had decided to discontinue treatment because my issues had resolved. He said I had a "million dollar case," but at that point I did not have medical support suggesting a claim of that magnitude, and I felt pressured to continue treatment with recommended providers. That was when I instructed the firm to wrap up my case with a reasonable settlement offer. In hindsight, there were early warning signs I dismissed at the time. The physical office presentation and staff did not match the "winning" image the firm tried to project. Those things alone would not determine whether a firm provides good representation, but combined with what happened later--including the small claims judgment--I wish I had followed through with my first instinct to leave.
