Hired Attorney 2019-2022I would never hire attorney Guelzow for anything. It will be a waste of your time and money. She cannot answer simple questions I had about my case. It was always "I will get back to you" and she never did. She came to court completely unprepared and It was embarassing. She will make the same argument over and over with no reason or proof to back it up which ruined my case. I would steer clear from her. There are much better attorneys in wausau who will probably help you much better than she can.

Hired Attorney 2021-2022Tara guzwlow is a terrible rookie attorney who can't manage to get the simplest of family matters taken care of. My case was drug out for a year . I got several bills, none of which where itemized, and had no actual hearings but yet I paid her thousands of dollars. When I asked for a itemized bill because I felt I was being taken advantage of she told me she would get it. I have yet to see it. My case was a simple child support matter. My ex's bank statements where a huge part of the case. Tara couldn't manage to get them. I ended up hiring a new attorney who I feel will have my best interests in mind and hopefully get done what needs to be done. Choose wisely. Tara Guzelow is NOT worth your $275 dollars a hour

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
