She was hired ( paid in full ) to take on my fianc?s criminal case in 3 different counties. Not one did she adhere to. Leading to warrants being issued. I contacted the office and was assured it would be taken care of. It was not. My fianc? was pulled over and placed under arrest because of her negligence. Once again I contacted the office because Sydney is never available however Lily her paralegal was. I expressed my concerns for the second time. Again nothing but lies. I was told that Sydney contracted those counties and there shouldn?t have been any warrants. Well upon my own research I called each county myself and what you know there was no record of her being his atty. Now I?m back and forth with Lily about my refund because Sydney has no way of being contacted yet I?m told she will call but never does. She?s a piss poor excuse of an attorney and I wouldn?t waste not a dollar or a penny on her. Save yourself the frustration. I really believe she?s scamming folks but I?ll update once I contact the Bar Association and a few others

After she took my case and was helpful in the beginning she just quit. No more calls emails or texts. After spending 6 months trying to get ahold of her I finally got a text from her assistant. Thus of course was another lie and again I cannot get ahold of anyone.

She started strong or so we thought, but she just stopped communicating. We lost a huge case because she just stopped working, or communicating period. No returned email, no returned calls, absolutely nothing. Not even a legit business address so we could pick up our case to hire someone else.Would not recommend at all. The billboard lawyers are a better chance

We chose Sydney Freeman to represent us in a domestic violence case, and couldn't be happier with the job she did. She researched all evidence, was available for every question we had, and sincerely advocated for us. I feel she went above and beyond to deliver us a positive outcome to the case. Her fees were more than fair with several options on payment. I am a very pleased client and highly recommend her services.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
