The law office of H. Kent Aguillard Attorney at Law, in Eunice, Louisiana, represents individuals and businesses in matters of bankruptcy and family law. Founding attorney H. Kent Aguillard is a board-certified specialist in bankruptcy law. He and attorney Caleb K. Aguillard represent debtors, creditors, businesses and institutions in a variety of bankruptcy and commercial matters. We also represent bankruptcy trustees and committees. Both of our attorneys possess a strong moral code, which they let guide them in everything they do.
On the family law side of things, our law office does everything we can to promote the integrity of the family unit. We serve as the front line of defense against individuals who use the family court system to tear those units down, and we aggressively advocate for outcomes that benefit both our clients and their loved ones. The junior Mr. Aguillard uses each in-person and virtual appointment to help clients better understand the law so that, when the time comes, they can use that knowledge to make difficult but informed decisions in the following matters:
- Divorce
- Child custody
- Child support
- Adoption
The attorneys at our law office have combined 50-plus years of legal experience. We use that experience to pursue and secure favorable outcomes for our clients via any means necessary and without compromising our values. Though we try to live by President Abraham Lincoln's advice to discourage litigation as much as possible, we know that avoiding it is not always possible. Our lawyers skillfully litigate high conflict matters when necessary. We gladly accept credit cards as payment.
We are a debt relief agency. We help people file for bankruptcy relief under the U.S. Bankruptcy Code.
We offer a free one hour initial consultation for bankruptcy and reorganization. Preferred rates for active duty and military veterans.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level
- - Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials
- - How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost
- - How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City
- - Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
