Attorney Leslie McElderry limits her practice to criminal cases. She handles felonies, misdemeanors, and traffic violations, youthful offender, probation or parole revocations and criminal appeals. She appears in Mobile County District and Circuit Courts, and also handles matters in all the city courts in Mobile County including the cities of Mobile, Chickasaw, Bayou La Batre, Creola, Satsuma, Saraland and Mount Vernon.
Her office is located in downtown Mobile across the street from the Mobile County Courthouse at 207 Church Street, on the corner of Church Street and Joachim.
Mrs. McElderry graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law, ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top 25 law schools in the country. She was admitted to the Alabama bar in 2012.
“I enjoy working with my clients,” she says. “My job is to advocate for them. I am not the judge. It is my job to take their side. Because I take them as they come to me, my clients and I are able to develop an easy, comfortable relationship.” She prefers criminal law over civil law because criminal law cuts closer to the bone. The greatest, most intrusive power our government has over the individual is the power to punish. That power must not be exercised recklessly. Punishment should be handed out conservatively and with due deliberation. She believes a criminal defense attorney’s job is to enforce limits on the government’s exercise of its power.
Mrs. McElderry schedules weekend and evening appointments when needed. Payment plans are available. There is no charge for an initial consultation. Call or email for an appointment.
