We had to hire Mr. Fluke for our daughter when she was going through a divorce and had a small child. Mr. Fluke is the epitome of professionalism. He will not tell you what you want to hear but will be totally honest in how he hopes for the outcome of the case. Donna his assistant is also excellent and makes sure to respond in a timely manner. If you like our daughter is going through the difficult process of a divorce he is the best attorney you can hire.

Want a straight forward, smart, diligent lawyer? Everybody does. Do yourself a favor and have a consultation with Michael Fluke. Go ahead and compare, you will still come back to him. He will let you know where you stand and how he intends to go forward. My case was a straight divorce but Michael's moves got me the settlement I wanted so a final court date was not necessary. Michael and Donna are very personable and you will feel less stress during this difficult period in your life. Keep reading other online reviews and you will find more positive remarks. It's what lead me to seeing Michael and the consultation sealed the deal. I highly recommend Michael Fluke.

Michael D. Fluke and his assistant, Donna, made every aspect of an extremely difficult experience the best it could be, and I am glad that I chose him to represent me in this matter. They displayed professionalism, compassion and provided honest feedback throughout the entire process. Mr. Fluke and Donna were always willing to listen and communicate with me whenever necessary. The advice Mr. Fluke provided guided me in making decisions and choices that were always the best avenues to follow. His legal fees and expenses were reasonable and straightforward, without any surprises. I highly recommend him and his team to anyone in need of legal expertise.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
