I highly recommend the services of Jeff and Joel. I was named the Executor of my Grandmothers Estate after her passing, and with no real guidance, was thrust into a role I wasn?t sure I was capable of seeing to completion. Initially I had done some ?shopping around? to find an attorney to work with. Everyone I spoke to charged for an initial consult, was cold, dismissive, rude, or frankly, uninformative. I had a free initial consultation with Jeff who went over everything clearly, in a way that I could understand, and with some warmth that everyone else had been lacking. After that consultation I felt like I had the confidence I needed to finally move forward with Probate. Over the course of working with Jeff I was also assisted by Joel, who like Jeff, was very helpful in laying out clearly my situation, possible routes to take, and providing the guidance necessary to get to my destination. Both have a great sense of humor, which honestly was a breath of fresh air, as having to navigate the long legal labyrinth of probate after the passing of a loved one can feel pretty dark and daunting. I am finally at the finish line of what has been a long journey and couldn?t be happier with my decision to work with these two. To anyone reading this, I hope this review helps in your decision-making process on who to work with. And to Jeff and Joel, thank you for everything, your help through all of this is truly appreciated.

It sounds clich?, but I had an unusual set of circumstances thrown at me after the passing of my sister. I had spoken to several attorneys along the way but none of them knew how to handle my specific set of circumstances and the situation I found myself in. That was until one of the many attorneys recommended Joel N Reissner. Not only is he familiar with Arizona Law but he knows Arizona Health Care Cost Containment Service (AHCCCS), Social Security Disability, and Supplemental Security Insurance (SSI) and how each interact with the other. In a 30 minute free consultation call he explained what needed to happen to protect me and my assets. Mr. Reissner gave me options and explained how each option would work until we found one that fit my circumstances the best; all the while using simple everyday words that I could understand and follow along with. Mr. Reissner is easy to talk to, and has a great sense of humor too. I highly recommend him.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
