Mr. Reid did an amazing job on my divorce and custody case. Never made it into the courthouse. Won the case !!! If you need an attorney to fight for you he is the one. Everything went very smoothly. Got what I wanted in the divorce and custody !!

After a difficult divorce case with a (different) lawyer that disappointed me, I wanted so much better when I had to go back to try to get full custody. As a single Dad, the odds were stacked against me getting full custody. I knew I had to hire the Best. I needed a lawyer with experience who would doggedly go after the best outcome for my daughter and I. Reid was professional and knew exactly how to tackle my case. He made me feel comfortable and confident that I would get the outcome I needed to secure the well being of my daughter. Reid was honest and dependable and well known in the courts. He was able to settle my case in mediation so I was able to save court costs. I spoke to many lawyers before choosing Reid, and I don't think anyone could have matched his skill and expertise. I am beyond grateful for what he did for me and my daughter. I got full custody and my daughter is safe and thriving. His guidance was life-changing and I cannot recommend him enough!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
