Beware of this attorney he is a fraudster. I was refered this Attorney by another attorney friend of mine... I won my lawsuit and was rewarded $5,000.00 and Garrett never went to file with the court clerk that I won my case to receive my money Monthly. So he defaulted my my case on purpose! Cause his excuse to me was he thought the judge was going to file my award with the county clerk which was truly Garrett's job to do because he was the one hired for representation not the judge on the case..And I recently asked him to file for my SSI and still nothing just crickets still no text or call back with documents to file and I also told him I have another law suit for big money I want filled still nothing just crickets. This attorney owes me $3000.00 for my $5000 lawsuit he willingly out of knowing he did me wrong and dropped the ball on me and with overtime he has only given me $2000.00 out of his pocket. So if you hire this attorney be advised you will only get from him. With what you're and case is Worth!!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
