Michael Juba represented me in a case against my former landlord for wrongfully withholding my security deposit. We were ready to go to trial but the day before trial, the defendant came to us with a settlement offer, which we negotiated higher and eventually accepted. He understood what I wanted from the case and gave sound advice throughout. At a few different times he advised against options that would have made him significantly more money, which I think says a lot about an attorney. I would definitely go to him again and would enthusiastically recommend him to others.

I have successfully had two cases sealed with The Juba Law Office. I worked with Kevin Benninger and his team, and they were all extremely professional and kind. Throughout the process, they kept me well-informed. It was made clear that there was no guarantee the cases would be sealed, but they promised to do their best. I am blessed to say that everything worked out in my favor. If you're looking for a great law firm, this is it. The sealing of these two cases will be life-changing for me

Michael was able to gather facts and complexities of my situation efficiently but thoroughly, so that he was fully up to speed quickly. Then he used his expertise and experience to give me incisive, safe, and realistic advice. I would and will work with him again. Smart, no nonsense, and incredibly helpful, which is exactly what I want in a lawyer!

Juba law office has been extremely helpful with my landlord issues. Lucy is amazing. Attorney Juba is very friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help. When an attorney returns a message on a Saturday you know they actually want to help. I would recommend reaching out to Juba Law if you have issues with your landlord and are unable to resolve yourself.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
