You won't deal with Martin just a novice that will drain you dry and force you to concede. If you get Brandes just record yourself and hit play every time you speak with him. He talks a good game but does nothing. Hired a stud but got a dud!

After a great deal of researching law firms I chose Martin Sir and Associates to help me navigate a very challenging divorce. My situation was complicated, and sadly abuse was something I experienced in my marriage. Martin Sir and Managing Paralegal, Christy Trammell were compassionate, understanding and most importantly they were the strength I needed on the front lines to fight for what I deserved. If you want a strong team that protects you and fights for you - Martin Sir & Associates is Nashville's top notch.

Divorce is a very difficult and frightening process. Hiring Martin Sir & Associates was the best decision I made. They were available day and night to field my questions, concerns, and help me develop a legal mindset which is extraordinarily important for getting yourself a great deal. Everyone that I dealt with at Martin Sir & Associates was incredible. Brandes Holcomb is an extraordinarily sharp attorney. He would listen to my story and guide the next steps with mastery. He knows when to push and when to let the other side make a play to see what we were dealing with. It was like watching an beautiful dance. Christy Trammell is so impressive to watch. She is sharp and has so much valuable experience. I knew when I was dealing with Christy, I would love what she came up with. She is a master at communicating and developing strategy. I was left in awe of Christy numerous times during the process. You will be, too. Shalah Dare is a beacon of light in this world. Divorce is extraordinarily expensive, and I would actually look forward to making my payments because I knew I would get to joke around with Shalah for a few minutes. She's absolutely delightful. I would highly recommend hiring Martin Sir & Associates. My number one piece of advice after hiring them would be to get involved in your own case. Be your own advocate. You know your story. You tell the team at Martin Sir & Associates your story, and they will transform it into the most beautiful legal strategy you have ever seen. I guarantee it.

Martin and his team were an invaluable asset for me over the last 4 years involving both divorce and domestic related contract cases. I was always kept up to date and their timely notices meant I never had to ask where we were in the process. Martin's and Christy's mediation skills were first rate...helping me to remain calm and providing settlements I consider more than fair; thus avoiding the expense and uncertainty of a trial. I thank God they were in my corner!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
