Hugh McKeegan - Pittsburgh, PA

Mr. McKeegan is a civil litigator with experience representing clients in civil and commercial litigation in state and federal court at both the trial court level and on appeal. He began his career with the international law firm of K&L Gates LLP, where his practice focused primarily on toxic tort litigation and internal investigations and FCPA compliance related matters. Mr. McKeegan went on to serve as a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Christy Criswell Wiegand of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, where he assisted the Court with nearly all aspects of civil and criminal matters. Immediately prior to joining Del Sole Cavanaugh Stroyd LLC, Mr. McKeegan practiced employment litigation at Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP, primarily representing individuals in discrimination, retaliation, and whistleblower cases. Mr. McKeegan has briefed appeals to the Third, Sixth, and Ninth Circuits and has presented oral argument in the Sixth Circuit.

Mr. McKeegan received his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the Law Review, serving as a research editor and as the Business and Operations Manager. In addition, he received CALI awards in Legislation and Regulation, Legal Writing, and Conflict of Laws. Mr. McKeegan holds a Bachelor of Arts with departmental honors from Trinity College (CT) in English. As an undergraduate, Mr. McKeegan was a member of Trinity’s varsity rowing team from 2006-2010, where he was a three-year letter winner and member of the All-NESCAC Academic Team in his Senior Year. Mr. McKeegan was a member of crews that won or placed at multiple New England Championships, ECAC National Championships, the Head of the Charles Regatta, and was a member of Trinity’s crew at the Henley Royal Regatta who were runners-up in the Temple Challenge Cup.
