Josh is a founding, and currently the managing partner in the law firm of Lurie|Strupinsky, LLP, where he provides services for clients in both NY and NJ. He also is the manager of the New Jersey office and heads the litigation and general counsel practices for the firm.
An experienced litigator, Josh's tenacity and work ethic, combined with his innovative approaches to cases and knowledge of the law, has helped clients throughout New Jersey and the greater New York City area. The best proof of the quality of his practice is that many of his former adversaries wind up referring their friends, clients and colleagues to him for their legal needs - who in turn refer their friends, clients and colleagues to him.
Josh is originally from Massachusetts and grew up between the Boston area and Westchester County, New York. Josh attended Drew University in Madison, New Jersey where he obtained his BA in Philosophy with a focus on moral and ethical theory. After working in the financial industry for 2 years, he attended Vermont Law School, the top environmental program in the country, where he obtained both his Juris Doctor and a Masters of Studies in Environmental Law. During this time, he clerked for the National Wildlife Federation in Boulder, Colorado and for legal aid in rural Vermont.
Josh is admitted to practice in the states of New Jersey, New York and Vermont as well as the Federal District Courts for New Jersey and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He is also admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits.
Prior to forming Lurie|Sturpinsky, he was mentored by, an associate for, and then partner to, Henry F. Furst, a renowned trial attorney in New Jersey. Prior, he was an associate for a small defense boutique and a law clerk for the Burlington, Vermont firm of McNeil, Leddy and Sheahan. Josh has also appeared as local counsel in complex matters in New Jersey and appeared pro hac vice in other jurisdictions in furtherance of providing services for his client.
When not practicing law, Josh spends time with his family and dog, is active in his adopted home in Bergen County, New Jersey, hikes, plays music (and tries to go to concerts), and brews beer.
