Julie L. Doty - Coeur d’Alene, ID

Julie Doty graduated from the University of California at Irvine in 1993 with a degree in Criminology, Law and Society, and a minor in Spanish. She graduated from Whittier College School of Law in Los Angeles, California in 1997. After graduation, she became a Deputy District Attorney in the Benton County Prosecuting Attorney's office in the Tri Cities area of Washington State. She then transferred to the Spokane City Attorney's Office where she worked as a Prosecuting Attorney in the Spokane Regional Domestic Violence Unit.

In 2001, wanting to work closer to her home and family, Julie joined the Coeur d'Alene City Attorney's Office and, later, the Kootenai County Prosecutor's Office. She was a prosecuting attorney for major felony crimes including second-degree murder and rape. In addition, she prosecuted various misdemeanor crimes including DUI, domestic violence and juvenile offenses before leaving for private practice in 2003.

Julie now handles a wide variety of family law cases for Amendola Doty & Zanetti PLLC, where she is a partner in the firm. Her prior experience as a prosecutor is most useful in cases where settlement negotiations have failed, or are not acceptable to her clients, and a trial becomes necessary. She handles high asset divorce cases and child custody/child support cases. Julie works hard to ensure her clients are well prepared for court and that each of her cases is given the attention to detail she would expect if the case was her own. Julie's personal enjoyment includes watching her boys race motorcycles, and compete in slope style ski competitions. She is an avid athlete and participates in Spartan training and races with her husband and friends.
