Top notch law firm. There experts and fight tooth and nail to win. I am very impressed over the legal citations and argument made. Try the test, then try the best.

Absolute fraud. Took $800.00 from me just to speak to them and within 15 minutes told me they wouldn't take my case. When I came to the meeting they were completely unprepared and knew nothing despite sending them all information in advance. They tried to print what I sent them immediately before the meeting but couldn't operate their printer, printing 8 pages per sheet. So there they were trying to read from this tiny font and pretend to know what they were talking about. What's worse is that 8 months after that visit they sent me a bill for $500.00. For what? Now they are continuing to harass me for $500.00 I couldn't possibly owe them. This law firm is a total fraud.

Unfortunately this review contains several inaccuracies that we feel compelled to address. By writing the review Mr. Salyers implicitly authorizes a public response. When Mr. Salyers first contacted our firm by phone, he was not billed for that conversation. After that call, he submitted a substantial volume of documents by email for our review. We were transparent with him at that stage: given the volume and complexity of what he provided, meaningful evaluation would require dedicated attorney time, billed at $400/hour with an $800 deposit covering the first two hours. Mr. Salyers agreed to these terms and engaged our firm on that basis. What followed was not a 15-minute brush-off claimed by Mr. Salyers. Prior to ever meeting with Mr. Salyers in person, the attorney spent 1.6 hours pouring through the materials he requested the firm to review and providing him with a written evaluation by email. Then, a series of follow-up emails were exchanged, taking up another .9 hours. Following this extensive work, Mr. Salyers wanted to follow up with an in-person meeting, for which took another .6 hours. In total, Mr. Salyers was billed for 3.1 hours of attorney time in accordance with the express terms to which he agreed in advance. He received a bill on the same day as his meeting. He was billed again. He is now claiming surprise that he is still billed 8 months later. We recognize that legal fees can be frustrating, particularly when the outcome isn't what a client hoped for. Simply because a client doesn’t like the opinions is not a reason to not pay for the time and opinions of the attorney. This firm's attorneys charge for one thing: their time and expertise, built over years of education and practice. Every hour billed is an hour that belongs to someone's family, to someone's life. We charge for that time honestly and transparently, and we expect to be paid for it. If you don’t want an honest opinion then don’t ask for a legal opinion. We welcome clients who come to us in good faith with genuine legal needs. We remain committed to providing those clients with thorough, high-quality representation. We don’t like to be accused of fraud for doing exactly what we said we would do.

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
