Hired Attorney 2021-2024Upon meeting Mr. Kirtner, he seems he will try to work for you. Once paid, that interest diminishes. Our case has been drawn out for years and he stills hasn't completed several task needed so we can have a court date. Our case was time sensitive. One task he was going to complete in Jan 2023, he still has not, it was to run an ad in the paper. We keep meeting and meeting and nothing gets accomplished. I would highly recommend you keep looking and find a different lawyer.

Hired Attorney 2014-2016I hired Tim to represent me in a personal injury lawsuit against Wal-Mart. All I can figure he did was to sit on the case for 22 months doing nothing. Finally with just two months left on the statue of limitations I fired him and had to really hustle to find another lawyer, which did not work out either. I don't know what his problem is or was, but he for sure has a problem. If you hire Tim, do so at your own peril. Be for warned. I gave him a 1/2 star rating only because that's the lowest rating I could give and post my opinion.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
