For a combined 50 years, brothers Errol and Michael Friedman have been attending the legal needs of the Texarkana area, representing both small and large clients, individuals and companies alike.

Errol Friedman, rated "av" in Martindale-Hubbell by his peers, is a 1970 graduate of Texas Tech University School of Law. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association (1973-1984), been a member of the Texas Board of Legal Specialization Advisory Committee, and has served as President of the Texarkana Bar Association (1998).

Certified in 1978 in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Errol devotes roughly half his time to assisting those who have been seriously injured because of the negligence of others or the failure of a product.

Michael Friedman graduated with honors in 1975 from the University of Texas School of Architecture and in 1977 from St. Mary's Law School. Michael has successfully represented contractors and consumers alike in matters ranging from alleged structural failures to serious personal injury resulting from faulty design.

The Friedman brothers are both members of the Texas and Arkansas bars and practice extensively in both states. Each is licensed in and credentialed by the federal courts of both states.

Both Errol and Michael devote significant parts of their practices to the representation of individuals who have problems with their own insurance companies.

The Friedman Law Office partners also regularly represent spouses in family law disputes ranging form property issues to custody of children.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
