Ah yes, I remember going in the Trott and Trott office 10 years ago to negotiate my mortgage which I was admittedly behind on. I had a bad few months in 2009 but recovered fast and even offered up to $30,000 to bring my mortgage current and get ahead to show good graces. I remember they put me in a glass room and said they couldn?t help me. Looking back at the 2008 financial disaster and utter failure of TARP, I was, let?s say disappointed with the firm on their willingness to do nothing, refuse money, and flat out not care. Well 10 years later it still haunts me how you actually turned down money and sent me ?packing? so easily, It?s a story made for a movie... I hope you did not treat others the way you treated me especially if they had families to care for. Fortunately I was single and left quietly. Again disappointed. I wouldn?t mind a response from someone in your firm to explain it.

Trott Law is just a front for con artists. I got ripped off from my mortgage company, and Trott literally stole 100% of my settlement check. They should be disbarred. They are why lawyers are hated so much

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
