Dan's general business practice includes representing clients in connection with the formation of business entities, business transactions, and various other contractual arrangements.
Business Transactions
Dan's practice includes structuring, negotiating, and documenting transactions, including the purchase or sale of assets or businesses, mergers and reorganizations, and transfers of ownership interests in business entities. Dan often teams up with the members of the Firm's Oil and Gas Section in connection with oil and gas transactions.
Securities Law
Dan's securities practice includes representation of clients in private offerings of both equity and debt securities, and other securities matters.
Lending
Dan devotes a portion of his practice to the representation of financial institutions and borrowers in structuring, negotiating, and documenting lending transactions. He has represented lenders and borrowers in many loans involving oil and gas businesses. In addition, Dan has experience in working on loan workouts, collections, and foreclosures.
Career
Dan started his legal career at the firm in 1987. He was general counsel at Legacy Reserves, an oil and gas company headquartered in Midland, Texas, from 2012 to 2020, when he returned to the firm.
