5.0 out of 5 stars

Tim created a revocable trust for our family home. When it was time to sell that home, Tim was always there to help with the most minute details. He was especially good when meeting with me and all of my siblings, helping to navigate amidst all of the issues, details and personalities. Tim is mild mannered and so competent. He did a great job for us!

Tim Barnes represented my real estate company in a recent eviction case. I found him to be professional, keenly knowegable of real estate law, and he was right on point with every step of the process. I found his pricing updates during the process were extremely helpful in tracking the case. I would recommend taking advantage of his legal services without hesitation and I will certainly use Tim in any and all future evictions.

Atty Barnes represented us in a civil case vs an HOA. He was exactly what we were looking for in an attorney; a partner with a collaborative style. He is a good listener. He took time to understand our goals. He would always offer advice, if asked, and give us the pros and cons of each. He has an excellent understanding of the law. Very good strategist and never wasted our money on unnecessary contacts with opposing counsel or with us. He achieved a favorable settlement in line with our goals. And on top of all of that, he is a really nice person with good confidence but not a flaming ego.

I had trouble removing a tenant owing months back. Agencies that help renters can constantly call with no regards for landlords. Attorney Tim Barnes easily navigated through the processes further complicated with recent COVID guidelines. I also was able to receive the back rent. Well worth the money and I would absolutely recommend this firm.

I was hitting a stone wall & saw no way out. The attorney I was seeing could not help me, he gave me Timothy H Baines Esq phone #, told me this firm was the best for evicting tenants who refused to pay rent. Best advice ever!! I called, within minutes Tim gave me a time to come to my home since I was unable to get to his office. When he arrived he laid out a plan & HOORAY!!!! The terrible tenants left the following day!! Smartest & best phone call I ever made. If anyone is having this problem do not hesitate, call their office, you will have results almost immediately & the price is also very reasonable.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
