Matthew is very Professional and he did a great job helping my son and I navigate the Lowell court process. He was always willing to listen and guide us through the process. I would recommend him to everyone I know that has a legal issue that needs to be handled by a true professional!!

In a word: Excellence! Attorney Demaras has assisted my family and I on numerous civil matters. Feeling anxious about one particular case, he thoroughly explained the legal process, putting our fears at ease. We had a successful, fair outcome thanks to his expertise. His name is the first I mention when a friend, colleague, etc. asks for a referral for an attorney.

Throughout my entire case Mr Damaris was totally forthcoming and honest,,let u know exactly what the consequences of the crime, and what he was exactly trying to get for results of the case. I was totally impressed by his professionalism and integrity.. doing the crime was probably the worst decision of my life,,but having Mr Damaris as a lawyer was my best decision on who represented me!!! Consequences could have been years in prison,,and thousands of dollars in fines..final outcome was my freedom,no loss of license and only 500 in fines.,I'd personally like to thank Matthew for his hardwork and caring for a trying journey for me and my family,

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
