Yo he consultado a la oficina de abogados Schoenfeld & Schoenfeld en 2 ocasiones y he recibido un excelente trato y profesionalismo en esta oficina y estoy muy agradecida con ellos por sus servicios.

Sal and Steve were so great! They kept in constant contact with me as my case went forward. They explained the process thoroughly and always answered any questions that I had. I highly recommend them and their law firm. I feel so fortunate to have had them represent me.

My grandma attempted to retain their services for a personal injury case, and they treated her terribly. They strung her along for three weeks, finally scheduled a conference call with her to discuss her case, called the day before to confirm the conference call, and then on the date and time the conference call was supposed to be held told her that they were no longer interested in helping her. When my mother called and asked why, this office was horribly rude to her, refused to give any explanation for stringing my grandmother along for three weeks outside of saying in the rudest possible tone that "we don't have to take any cause we don't want." That may be true, but if they hadn't strung my family along for three weeks and indicated that they wanted to take the case, we could have already found another lawyer. Extremely unprofessional, if you're looking for someone to actually help you I would seriously recommend going elsewhere. I am typing this for my Grandmother because her injury is so severe she can't even use a computer on her own anymore. She is in constant pain and suffering terribly, she should NOT have had to deal with this firm's rudeness on top of everything else she is going through. TL:DR Save yourself the trouble and go anywhere else

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
