Brent and his team are true professionals that you can rely on and trust! Brent has represented me for the last 3 years, as an active duty service member in a difficult child custody battle with parental alienation. Brent and his amazing team fought for my rights as a father and the rights of my daughters to ensure that they are given the best opportunity to have a positive and loving relationship with both parents. His knowledge, experience, and ability to tell it like it is set him apart and provided the firm no-nonsense approach that my case needed. As a result, I was awarded custody and sole decision making. Brent?s team and services are worth every penny and he even provided ways to cut costs which is always a plus during a difficult case. Without Brent and his amazing team, my family would be at a great loss! Should the need arise, I will continue to utilize his services and I highly recommend him to anyone going through a custody battle, especially with parental alienation.

I would highly recommend NOT to use this firm. My personal experience was horrid, this firm made numerous mistakes on a simple parenting plan calendar - some mistakes I caught before signing, some I caught afterwards. When I asked for a refund due to these numerous errors, I was called unprofessional & threatening, and the partner, Brent, refused to provide a refund (or even an apology) and threatened to take legal action against me if I wrote any reviews that contained false statements. These are not the people you want to work with, please go find a firm that pays attention to detail, stands behind their work & ensures customer satisfaction. In my opinion, this firm falls short in all of those aspects.

I was referred to Mr. Warkentine by other mom?s that had gone through a divorce. I am so thankful for those recommendations because Warkentine Law Office gave me the exact support I needed to navigate through a very difficult time in my life. Mr. Warkentine?s staff, particularly Amy, kept me on track with regular updates, an easy to use file sharing program and frequent reminders to help me stay on track. I am so thankful for their invaluable knowledge, experience and know-how which are exactly what I was looking for. Mr. Warkentine is a no-nonsense attorney who gives you the facts, recommends what he thinks is right but ultimately is interested in doing what is best for his client which makes it a lot easier to get through those difficult decisions. I probably had a deer in the headlights look most of the time but he still helped me navigate through the process in a way that let me feel good about the resolution.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
