I hired this law firm to help me with the probate of my aunt?s estate. I received a lot of help from two particular paralegal : Ms Dana Harris and Ms Svetlana Rosario. They went above and beyond to answer my questions and gave me guidance as we went through the process. I really appreciate what they have done for me.

We had a question about a will that paralegal Kristine Snyder helped us with quickly and free of charge. Thank you.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS FIRM & THIS EGOTISTICAL JERK CONNORS! Awhile back, my in-laws put their house in a Trust, drawn up By Connors & Sullivan. My wife was the Executor. Her name was on tax documents that were sent to use (e.g., property tax bills for her parent's house), since her name was on the Trust. I voiced my concern in a letter to Mr. Connors, asking if there were going to be any issues down the road with this. This pompous, egotistical jerk wrote me back the most condescending letter telling me that my concerns were frivolous, & that I was lucky he ever answered me since I have no connection to the Trust. My answer back was indeed I do! This being that what ever might affect my wife do to the Trust, also affects me, since we filed jointly! I guess because this @#$% has a law degree & I don't, he feels he has the right to talk down & just brush me aside. What a pompous moron! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS EGOTISTICAL JERK! No wonder his firm has such a low rating. If I could give him zero stars, I would!

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
