Listing for Mattox & Wilson on Findlaw website says "FREE CONSULTATION". Return call after I filled out a contact form said they require $300 for a 1-hr consultation. When I asked about the discrepancy, rather than explaining why their ad claims to offer for free what they actually charge a premium for, he appeared to be scoffing as he said, "Why would we do that for free?" Maybe because that's what is being advertised?!? Maybe because a small investment by the law firm on the front end to show their competence to prospective clients, with the possibility of paid services from a good outcome of the free consultation, would likely be seen as good business practice?!? I'll go with a lawyer that provides what they advertise.
